Ouch! Sweets

Do you think that my burning screaming feet today could be the result of consuming about 8000 pounds of chocolate covering raisins last night? Eating sweets never was an issue before I got this little nasty problem. But....since I quit the booze...the sweet tooth has gone crazy. I do know about the sugar in alcohol. I'm just wondering if my disease is just getting worse, or if the sugar is irritating those nasty little nerves. Yes....I posted this on the Peripheral Neuropathy forum....I just thought the people that liked the taste of the devil's brew might understand this craving.

Hi jaKatak

I know that my sweet tooth has come to the fore since I got sober, ice cream being the main offender.

I DO have a lot of trouble with my feet and legs, ( pain) but it is due to Fibromyalgia, which was exacerbated by my drinking

Hi Jakatak,

Don't know about the feet thing, but I have consumed more than my fair of chocolate since getting sober, cookies too! Chocolate cookies ever better!!!

I am told is natural and it will ease up in time, hope so, afraid to get on the scales and the clothes are getting very tight these days.

Love, Rose

the first time i quit, the sweet tooth was something new to me. i had never eaten sweets before then. i noticed them while pushing a shopping cart down an aisle. i could litteraly smell the cookies through the bags! i bought several brands and ate a whole bag in one setting. this went away, and my doctor said it was normal. i think it lasted about 10 days. if in doubt see your doc.
