Jumbled up mom

My daughter is trying out for pom pons, she is very good and cheering and such.

But

She bombed chemistry and I know they look at your grades as part of making the team, my daughter also knows that, so why would she put herself in a compromising position like that and practice so hard, till she was exhausted, knowing that her chemistry grade was going to stop her from making the team. Is she hoping for a miracle???? Is she hoping they wont look at the grades right now. I dont know, but my heart is broke for her and I dont even know the results till tonight after work. I can tell she wants this so bad.

code me or what I cant fix this it is out of my hands, I am just saying a prayer for her.

Jumbled up mom

Let go....

you cant always remove the stones in her path. Let her learn the consequences of failing chemistry.

Just hold her and love her if the bad news comes.

Thats our job as Moms.

emily - at least she is willing to try and if she fails that's how we learn sometimes.

what FOB said is good advice - be there to dry the tears if they come.

She broke down crying yesterday, with her friends that were over practicing with her. Her two very best friends in the world are trying out too.

I will be there for her and love her and hug her and probably cry with her.

Been there done that! In high school I wanted to be a cheerleader so bad and I finally made the Junior Varsity team in the ninth grade!! I went to one game and they looked at my grades and they were not good enough. So off the team I went. I still love cheerleading but it's not really a big deal now looking back. If you don't let anything happen to her then NOTHING ever will. She'll be ok and she'll do better in chemistry. You have to have an F to not get on the team. They go by your GPA. IF she has a good GPA and a D in chemistry then she'll get on the team.THen again....she does have to be a good cheerleader to get on the team first and foremost. Good luck to her. Keep us posted

Emily...
Yesterday my son was going to try out for Jazz band at school. He was so psyched about it for weeks. practising everyday. About an hour before audition he said "Mom I don't think I am going to go to the audition today." I was shocked knowing how badly he wanted this. He said he didn't feel prepared enough or good enough and didn't want to be rejected. This was his choice. I simply told him okay there is always next year and in the meantime continue practising and taking lessons. He was ok with that idea. I know this might not be the same as your daughter as she most likely would have mad the squad. We as parents want our children to be happy but we can't make things happen for them. If they really want them, they need to do all that they can to get them.....study harder, work harder whatever it takes, just a part of life...
