As each of us makes our path to recovery. We develop a mental list of things we will never do again. Or at least. Never consciously do again.

Here are mine

10. I will never sacrafice my own happiness for anyones addiction.
9. I will not be afraid to speak of my feelings.
8. I will not be cruel for crueltys sake.
7. I will not drink with an alcoholic for acceptance.
6. I will not be touched by anyone drunk.
5. I will not doubt I have a HP.
4. I will not forget to be thankful for today.
3. I will not forget the people who were there for me when I couldnt be there for myself.
2. I will not keep my recovery to myself but share it hoping it can help someone else.
1. I will not go back to where I was... I like where I am now much better.

1. I will try not to confuse being needed with being loved.

2. I will not allow myself to be sucked in by an addict of any kind.

3. I will not forget that I am not so powerful that I can take away someone's addiction.


Don't have 7 more yet... but this is a good start.
