Unhappy Picked up today

Hi folks, feeling down, drank 2 cans of super T, for those that dont know its 9% proof beer, tasted like s*** all the street people drink it because its cheap and strong. I just felt I needed some inside me. Off to AA to share the experience tonight, just feel so disapointed
Dave

Hi Digger...HUGS!! I hope you'll feel better after your AA meeting tonight. I guess what you should do is try to figure out what triggered your need to have those drinks and then figure out what to do if that trigger arises again. Good luck!

Digger,
In the big picture of it all, this will only be a minor setback if you can pick yourself right back up and keep doing the next right thing. Share at the meeting about your experience and then examine exactly what you were thinking and feeling right before you made that decision to drink. If it was a situation or people that helped to trigger it, maybe those things would be best avoided.
Just don't give up......keep trudgin along the path!

I agree, don't beat yourself up about it, but be sure to learn from it. Have a good meeting......

Seriously consider what things were or are going on in your life that made you do this. Ill bet theres something. How long had you been sober?

Many thanks to all you guys

Last nights meeting was good, I shared and got it out of my system. Going to a different meeting tonight. Havent pick up today, so far! the trigger was words from my wife, she really has had enough. My sister, who is an alcoholic and has been sober for over a year, has said I can go and stay with her, considering that, but is it not running away?

I don't know about relationships, but keep hitting those meetings. Good job there.

Glad you shared with others, Digger. Rather than hide or ignore that you "picked up". That might have led to another drink. Alcohol tends to take advantage of us whenever it's allowed an opportunity.

Glad you went to a meeting, and plan on attending another this evening.

Sending hugs of encouragement your way,

Lindsey

Thanks for the encouragement Lindsey, I will share again tonight even though this is a new meeting for me, thought I didnt need one a day before my last slip, after all, that's all it was 'a slip'. Feeling bloody positive right now, mood swings I guess!!
