OT- Prayer Request
Right after my Mom died of heart attack 3 years ago, I met a lady, Myrtle, that was the same age as my Mom and just to look at her.....she reminded me so much of my Mom.
I bonded with her quickly and she with me and she took me under her wing. She's an Angel and everybody that knows her, just loves her. She's always positive, loving and has so much faith..
She had surgery to remove some scar tissue on her breast yesterday, but during surgery, the surgeons found cancer all throughout her left breast. So, she had a mastectomy. They will know more in 2 days when results come back whether or not the cancer spread farther into the lymph nodes.
Please pray that they got all of the cancer and that she heals really well.
She's amazing because I spoke with her tonight and she's not in any pain, is joking and excited about her Houston Astros playing in the world series
That's how great she is. Never gives in to doubt or fear, is always positive and full of joy.
She means the world to me and I can't imagine not having her here. I don't know that I could go through another powerful loss of a loved one.

prayers to myrtle and you. may her tests come back clean!!!
i had a similar older lady friend that "adopted" me when i first moved here. we had a lovely friendship for many years before she passed away and she even made me executor of her estate.

Thank YOU SO MUCH!!!! I can't stop crying. Didn't sleep. It'll be hard for me to see her in this way today, but I'm gonna go and be with her no matter what.
It's so important to tell our loved ones just how much they mean to us and how much we love them cuz life is so short.
She's the strong one now. I'm the emotional wreck. I need to pray for strength and peace........ for Myrtle's sake. I don't want to let her know that I'm scared to lose her because that'll worry her. So, I've gotta be strong.
God is good. He answers prayers.

Good news!! I went to see her at her home and spend the day with her yesterday and as I drove up to her house, she was outside taking a walk with a friend of hers!!
77 yr old lady, just had major surgery and is up walking 1/2 mile the day afterwards.........AMAZING!
She has no pain whatsoever and her color is really good. We still haven't heard the rest of the results, but she's handling it SO well.

I talked to Myrtle today on the phone and she told me that they got the results of the tests and she does have more cancer that has spread to her lymph nodes.
Not what we wanted to hear, but she is SO faithful, SO positive.......so, how can I be sad and bummed when she isn't?
She'll talk to the Dr's on Monday to find out what kind of treatment they'll use to help kill the cancer.
She's not out of the woods, yet. She still feels no pain (amazing! Thank God!) and she's still up and about. Gets tired really easily now, but is positive.
Please keep her in your prayers!
