Q. Why is this happening?
I moaned that out loud last night, having a cup of tea with my 17 yr old daughter. Very bad,crazy week........A/H divorced me Tuesday and now he shows back up in our lives (I imagine some of you are thinking.."Who's surprised?!") Anyhow, I just was weary and said that......she gently and matter-of-factly said; "Because dad is an alcoholic." End of subject. Yes, she is right; that is the long and short of it.

Sometimes children (regardless of age) have a tendency to see things so much more clearly and objectively! Isn't it refreshing? It gives me hope when my children do this that they have learned enough to not end up in the same situation I have.
Your daughter seems to be quite insightful. You've obviously done something right in raising her! Good job!

Children are the most amazing creatures....
Dont worry about the ex-AH showing up again, I think that is normal for them mostly cuz they cant seem to figure out what they want, and if they do figure it out... dont worry much it will change in a matter of days.
