Day 1

This is my first time in a forum and posting so forgive me if I stumble. I am only on the infamous Day 1, but we all have to start somewhere, right? I was given this site by a very close friend who is using it to help her through her recovery as well. Well I just wanted to say hi and wish you all the best of luck in your recovery and hopefully I'll stumble in tomorrow and post for Day 2

Thank you

Welcome Aboard, Davinabean! Stumble on in and make yourself at home. We don't mind at all, as long as you stumble in on your own power, and not towed in.

Congrats on Day 2!!! I had some real doozie headaches all the way into my 60-Day mark. They eventually began to lessen in frequency and severity. About the fatigue...that should go away as your body & mind heal. Rest frequently if you can 10-15 min power naps. And don't over exert yourself. Drink a lot of fluids--preferably mountain spring water.

Be prepared for some possibly WILD mood swings. And ''rollercoastering'' is common.
...up/down...up/down...sideways...up/down.

Almost forgot something. Watch out for the Shuga Bugg. You might start craving sweets like there's no tomorrow.

Welcome Davina - glad you are here and on day 2! Today is my day 1 (again) and I am quite miserable. I am going to force myself to eat something. How is sleeping going for you? Congratulations on your progress. And welcome!

Hiya Mandybabes! Welcome Back. We kept a seat warm for ya.

Oh NO, Kell! That's rough when Shuga Bugg bites & you don't like candy! Maybe substitute the bad sweets with fruits that have a natural-organic sugar content.

Mandybabes - I'm sorry to hear you are miserable Day 1 is never fun, but it's definately a step in the right direction!!

Eating will definately help...Sleeping on the other hand is not the greatest...Last night was tough and I'm BEAT today...But every day it gets a little better. You can always try valerian root or melatonin - they seem to take the edge off a little.

Congratulations on you're progress as well!!

Keep you're head up!!

A little something to brighten everyone's day :)

HEALTH QUESTION & ANSWER SESSION

Q: - I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life. Is this true?
A: - Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it, so don't waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer? Take a nap.

Q: - Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?
A: - You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of vegetable products.
____________________________________

Q: - Should I reduce my alcohol intake?
A: - No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more of the goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain. Bottoms up!
____________________________________

Q: - How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?
A: - Well, if you have a body and you have body fat, your ratio is one to one. If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.
____________________________________

Q: - What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?
A: - Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: - No Pain? Good!
____________________________________

Q: - Aren't fried foods bad for you?
A: - YOU'RE NOT LISTENING!!!. Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil. In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad for you?
____________________________________

Q: - Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle?
A: - Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.
____________________________________

Q: - Is chocolate bad for me?
A: - Are you crazy? HELLO ...... Cocoa beans ... another vegetable!!! It's the best feel-good food around!
____________________________________

Q: - Is swimming good for your figure?
A: - If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.
____________________________________

Q: - Is getting in shape important for my lifestyle?
A: - Hey! 'Round' is a shape!
