Admitting you need help is the way to start. Talking to someone else who knows what you are going through is the next thing after that. And there are a whole heap of people here who fit that exact description. There are no stupid questions in recovery, only one stupid answer: picking up that first drink.

Hello Diva--Welcome to SR! Glad you found us. My name is Laura and I am a gratefully recovering alkie/pothead. I didn't drink everyday, but when I did drink (at least 3 or 4 times a week), I more than made up for the days when I didn't have a drink. I got sick and tired of being sick and tired, went to treatment, found AA, and have been clean and sober since.

Hope you will keep posting and let us get to know you. Hang in there.

Hey Diva,
I too am trying to quit, I've been going to meetings and trying to find people to help me stop smoking weed. Its not easy, but the fellowship offers great support for recovering folk. Know that you aren't alone and that relapses are normal (though some would disagree), just pull yourself up by the shoe strings and get your ass to a meeting... this is my first post on the boards, so i don't know what to expect either.

hi diva, my name is Kevin and I am an Alcoholic. Great that you found us and welcome to SR. I remember clearly how hard it was to admit I had a problem and reach out for help. When I did it was here and I got all the support I could handle.
