Starting another day 1 soon.

Well I've drank the last two days after making it 6 days without a drink. Its amazing how a couple of bad nights at work can make me just want to forget about the entire day by drinking it away. At least I've taken the initiative to look for a new job where I'll be happier.

But anyway, the reason I say I'm starting a new day 1 soon, and not now, is because I'm going to get a tooth pulled today (fractured a tooth skateboarding, so its gotta come out and they're gonna give me a bridge) and I imagine its not gonna feel so pleasant afterwards. And I know its a bad excuse, but if I need a painkiller, I think its gonna be alcohol. Hopefully it won't come to that though.

But I'm not gonna give up on quitting just because I had a few drinks. I suppose its never too late to start over.

I agree, it's never too late, never too early either for that matter. Wish I could convince myself of that.

hey griptape,
like mbtired says...never too early either!
one day at a time my friend.
i could ALWAYS find an excuse to drink, or that excuse found me, either way i drank. Most days i didn't need an excuse i just simply drank, then i needed to drink, then i needed to quit, then i did quit, thats when my life really started. You are worht the fight, just don't give up hope.
hugs, Wendy

Hmmmm...

The longer you drink the harder it is to quit.

Why add more time to your drinking career?

I ws clean for 6 days and I fell last night. gonna keep trying till i get it right. I think the problems with your teeth are a poor excuse to drink. CarolD is right the longer you drink the harder it is to quit. I have been drinking for 28 years every single day. quitting for me is extremely hard. Don't wait!! Stop before you start to lose the things that are important to you in your life. you will be a much better skateboarder if you are sober. Stop drinking and spend the extra time floating free on the board.

Take it easy

Excuses can always be made. There always seems to be a reason to drink, but it is up to you to ignore the excuses and choose not to.
Don't give in and don't give up.
