Cymbalta for depression side effects

Hello everyone,
I'm new here and I have read through a few of the threads and didn't find quite what I was searching for. I was wondering if anyone has had "restless leg syndrome" or sleeplessness and if so, does it go away after awhile or do I just have to deal with it? What about weight gain? Does this tend to cause one to gain weight? My dose was recently increased from 30mg to 60mg and these are now the symptoms I am experiencing. Thanks in advance for any responses.

T,
Welcome to SR, first of all!!!

I haven't had problems with restless legs on Cymbalta, but I HAVE gained a bunch of weight! Do you find you crave sweets? Talk to your doctor about it. My psychiatrist recommended the South Beach Diet which was very helpful to me. I find the benefits of the Cymbalta outweigh (no pun intended) the side effects, but you may not feel the same. But Cymbalta can definitely cause weight gain.

Best wishes in your recovery!
Love and hugs,
Eddie

Thank you for your reply. I've only been taking it for a month now and I haven't noticed any weight gain. Before I was taking this I was on zoloft and I gained some weight on it so now I'm on this. I guess I will see how it goes. My biggest concern is the waking up through the night and the night sweats. I pray that will get better in time.

That's funny. I switched from Zoloft to Cymbalta because of weight gain, too. But the gain has continued unfortunately. I don't seem to have trouble with waking up at night but I take ALL my meds in the morning. That may make a difference. But I still sweat all the time.

Love and hugs,
Eddie
