I am being punished!!!!
The decisions that I made while I was using is coming back to kick me in the butt. I may have lost out on a chance to get into this really cool program because my grades in school have been pretty bad due to drugs/alcohol and even though I'm doing better now, that is still haunting me.
I won't get a decision for a few months and they are gonna watch me, but still it hurts to know that I made it even harder on myself.
But I guess everything happens for a reason, right?

Actually, everything doesn't happen for a reason. Lots of things in life are arbitrary, and may seem unfair.
But we can control our emotional reactions to things that happen.
We can make healthy choices that are to our benefit, and we can make altruistic choices that are to the benefit of others.
We can make choices now, regardless of choices we've made in the past, which will result in healthy outcomes.
We can make goals and plan to bring them to fruition.
Take care,
Don S

(((((((((Hope)))))))))) Things will work out the way they are supposed to, as long as you keep trying to do the next right thing. Hang in there and it will get better!

Hi hopealwayz....it's said that in sobriety we pay for the sins of our addiction. All too true. We're no lomger numb to our emotions, we start to think of the consequences of our actions, past and present, we realize our actions affect others and not just ouselves. I wish you luck and knowing they're watching you should make it easier to do the right thing. As long as you're doing the right thing, not getting loaded, hopefully in a program like NA or AA, maybe even doing some service work, 'they' can't help but be impressed by the changes you've made in your life. Good luck and God bless.
