One month no pot.

After 37 years, 30 years of daily use. I have smoked no pot for one month. Actually the month was on Monday May 30 2005, but I have been out of town on business.

No cigarettes for 10 weeks today. Smoked them things for 38 years.

And it feels really, really, great not to smoke anything anymore.

It has been anything but easy. But it has been worth it.

Now I have some IRS issues to deal with, but that will be much easier now. I am saving enough money by giving up bad habits to get that mess paid off. When I was smoking it was easy to blow it off. Sorry for the really bad pun!

Dude, everything worth while takes effort. Right on! Now your dreams aren't just going up in smoke (yeah attempted pun intended)....Rock steady--the best is yet to come. Doors open, blessing come--and life get's real. I remember those dope fantasies at 4 am sitting in the porch swing on a hot texas summer night--visualizing myself as a soul train dancer. Ha! If I had all the money I wasted on dope I'd be living much more affluently--but not nearly with as much gratitude as I do for what I have today.! This truth came to me one day as I was sitting at my dressing table preparing to go to a meeting: I used to look at marijuana as a secret decoder ring that gave me insight into life--but it never did a d---m thing to improve my standard of living! Rock On!~!

I've tried quitting the cigarettes, it's my next great endeavor, so that in itself is awesome.

Congratulation on your successes and to many more

Hey there, Tex! Way to go!!! I know from experience that is not an easy thing to do. You should be really feeling about normal by now. Although, I know "normal" feels pretty strange at first.

Hugs--

Way to go, Bob! I was a daily pot smoker in high school. Actually, I probably smoked 3-4 times a day. I know what a fog it can be. You should be very proud of this as well as quitting smoking!!! That is no small feat.

Thanks for the kind words. The patch worked for the wife and I. I kept Sweet Tarts in my cigarette pocket and ate one of them when I reached for a cig.
