2 hours short of 5 days sober

This is the longest I've gone without a drink in over a year and a half. I got a sponser and I've been to a couple of AA meetings this week and I'm feeling like myself again. And I haven't had a craving all day.

I think I'm really going to do it.

Do any meetings give out 1 week chips? I haven't been to one that does.

Soon, "thinking I am really going to do it" will become....HEY, I am doing it!! Let there be joy along with gratitude to yourself for what you are doing.

Best Wishes for your early recovery.

Ready,
Way to go! At this stage, it's really helpful to go to as many meetings as possible. I go to at least one meeting every day, often two (beats drinking!). On the rare days I miss a meeting I make sure I go to a couple the next day. I find that it really helps me and gives me greater peace. I'm fortunate that there are lots of frequent AA meeting relatively nearby in my city. Keep at 'em!

GREAT JOB!!!! You should be proud. I am on day 25. Just 5 more days to go and then I get my 30 day chip. I can't wait! I don't think they give out one week chips, but I got some great advice from both my father and a friend in AA. They both said that I should go up and get as many 24 hour chips as I can. One for every day if the meetings offer them, until I get my 30 day chip. My first thought was "these people are gonna think I am relasping every day!!". But it has really helped to keep me focused. I have a collection of 24 hour chips now, and will get my 30 day soon. Just a suggestions. Keep up the good work!! Don't drink today.

1 week. I did it!

As of Thursday the cravings were gone, but tonight since I got home they came back a little. I think it's more mental than anything else, because I would drink the most when I was home alone at night on the internet. I was at clubs and bars for the past 2 nights and wasn't even tempted.

Oh well, I don't have anything here anyway even if I wanted it. And I don't.
