Beginning a new life
Hi.....I am just out of detox and on my 4th day of sobriety. I feel very strong about staying sober and I'm looking for a network of support. I have let alcohol rob me of 21 years of my life of things that I could have accomplished and dreams that have passed me by. I have plans for my future and it is very clear to me that if I continued drinking, saying I'll quit tomorrow I would not go through with any of them.
With that said I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself to this site.
Have a wonderful day!!

Don't forget to write down your Sobriety Date: 04-19-05. To some...this is a 2nd birthday because it symbolizes the first day of the rest of their (sober) life!
Congratulations, and stick around....this place kind of grows on you.

Hi LVN and welcome aboard.
SR is an important part of my recovery and i get alot of support and understanding here, coming here and going to AA meetings keeps me on track.
Looking forward to having you around.
Congratulations on getting sober.

livn and time4:
i did not happen overnight for me. but i have reconciled myself with the past- both my actions AND my inactions. In AA/NA, it is suggested we go thru a step program which allows us the freedom to move on with our lives.
And we usually go thru these steps with a fellow recovering addict/alcoholic in whose lives we can see that this program works.
it is what i have been doing for over 9 clean years.
might be worth a look....
