My 1st counselor apointment
I went to my first apointment today. I got out as much as I could about my afair, and everything about my AH and the land thing and all. She said that I definently have a lot on my plate and that I am not crazy, and that I have the right to change the way I feel OR stay if I want, but that there can be no relationship if he is an alcoholic. She gave ma some literature and I made an appointment for next week!

Well, she said if we are trying to work things out that he has to be sober. unless of course i LIKE living with an alcoholic, which we all know I don't, or I wouldn't be here! I think she was trying to give me tools or grounds to say to him. like if we are going to work this out, you have to be sober.

For me, I agree that it is nigh on impossible to have a healthy relationship with an active alcoholic, although there may be those around here who would disagree. I couldn't do it, though.
Glad to hear the counselling went well - I have really enjoyed mine. I went today and he thinks that I only need one more session. So I'll be flying solo after next week. Apart from al-anon, of course.
