My dad and how I miss him
My dad and how I miss him
My dad was an alcoholic but that wasn't all there was to him. He drove a bakery truck and went to work at three in the morning. The first time he took me with him (I was 7) I was so Proud of him!! He was happy and nice to everybody, everbody liked him on his route. He had me in tow and I got to go in all the casino kitchens with all the good smells. My dad was a completely different person when he was sober, and we shared so many good times. He introduced me to "people watching" we would sit on a bench and watch people for hours, and he would make me Laugh so hard....
When I became a young adult I always had lots of animals. I would come home and find one 25lb. bag of dog food and a 25lb. bag of cat food on my porch. He had so much kindness in him, so much good but he just couldn't stop drinking. He was in a coma for several days before he died at age 50 and I would sit by his bed and talk about our good times.
Even after everything he did that was bad, I just
saw my dad as the man that could make me laugh, and the man I was so proud of. I just wanted to talk about him so thanks for this place to come..
