Drat...
When my AH got his dui, believe it or not, they didn't cancel us they raised it. We switched to progressive. They took good care of us. and our rates were pretty close to what we were paying before. He's had three and our rates were afforadable.
We didn't own a home then so I couldn't tell you if that's legal or not. But I do know that if he were to hit or kill someone, that person or that persons family could come after the homeowners policy for more money (if they wanted to be greedy).

IF it can affect your homeowner's ...WOW....that really sucks.
Now, i'm even more glad that i broke it off with my ABF before we got in any deeper. I just KNEW that his drinking could cause me great financial and legal issues. He drank while he drove always. It would scare me to death.

I'm concerned about the
transfer the title statement.
Is he going to sign a quick claim deed on your home???? That's a big step and one that may not be best...for him!
I agree with the others, please do check with your state insurance commission. But I will tell you why one may affect the other. They (insurance company) are looking at what they consider to be a "pattern". If he would operate a car under the influence in their minds he would do reckless things elsewhere. It increases what they view as their risk.
