made it thru the night.....

Now I gotta make it thru the day AGAIN.

Another day off work .....another day of temptation.

I am showered and ready to get out and do things to keep my mind busy. I have a few things planned so I dont trip up.

My days off are my hard days. I am back at work tomorrow for three days....I just need to make it thru today!

Take it minute by minute or hour by hour, you can get through this X. I'm glad you have some distractions planned. Make sure you do something for you. You deserve a treat. I'm thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers.

I agree, you need to treat yourself to some thing special, reward yourself even if its a peice of chocolate for making it another ten minutes.
You can do it!
Rent the movie "dodgeball", I have not laughed so hard in a long time.
That will fill an hour and a half with fun.
Thinking of you, sending "you can make it vibes"
John

YOU'RE GETTING THIS FIGURED OUT. kEEP THE MIND AND BODY SO BUSY YOU DON'T THINK OF DRINKING. I FORGOT, DID U TRY A MEETING? 3 THINGS TO REMEMBER, PEOPLE, PLACES AND THINGS ARE TRIGGERS. TRY AND AVOID THE PEOPLE YOU PARTY REAL HARD WITH. BARS!!!!! R U STILL TENDING? THIS WILL BE A HARD 1

THINGS, ANY PART OF YOUR LIFE THAT MAKES YOU ANGRY OR UPSET.

1 MORE THING, TRY TO START A JOURNAL. WRITING IS A WAY OF PUTTING YOUR EMOTIONS AND THOUGHTS ON PAPER!!!

Yup, as mentioned, keeping busy is key. Replace the destructive with constructive!

The idea of keeping a journal is a great idea. At least it is helping me. I read it and REMEMBER exactly why it was that I quit. The pain and suffering etc that I lived with and caused. Then when I want to drink this seems to help because otherwise I tend to forget what this is all about anyway.
It is also good for getting emotions out.
Good luck.

I agree that you must avoid places and people that remind you of booze and lead you into drinking again. That's what I'm doing now, but I've been sober for less than 2 weeks. I definetely DO NOT intend to keep running for the rest of my life from these people and places. They were and still are a part of your self. They're memories and memories are what made us the way we are. Speaking for myself, when I'll feel confortable enough and strong enough, I'll face them, all that might tempt me back to the living hell of drinking. It'll take some time, maybe a long time, but I'm not in a hurry, and I cannot run from a part of me. Facing it when ready seems to me the best way to win over those "demons" and re-gain a whole of our self confidence and esteem.

Don't rush. Take your time. I'm with you. A lot of us are with you.
