For those Eagles fans - an apology LOL!

Thought you might get a chuckle out of this one since it was the subject of a recent thread - apparently I am the cause of the Eagles losing the SuperBowl last night, for any or all of the following reasons:

1) He was talking too much through the game so I banished him to the bedroom TV
2) I refused to take a half time shot with him (why would I, I don't drink!)
3) I didn't want to eat any of the Munchos that he offered me

After each of these I was promptly informed that if I didn't _______ then the Eagles would lose the game...

The logic continues to baffle me!

You didn't want MUNCHOS??? Munchos ROCK!!! I would have accepted them.

Anyway, I am the reason the Eagles lost-- I watched the game!!!

I saw some of it at home before going to the party.. Saw McNabb get sacked. Did not see the first TD.. Coincidence?? I think not.
Then went to the party and watched it. Yup, they lost. I should have stayed home with the TV OFF!!!!! Sigh...

We must be a network of evil :)

Because my ABF says it's MY fault!

He was out all friday night. Wandered in sunday around noon with roses. (see other thread) Went to get Sunday newspaper and came home obviously buzzed. Gave me a sappy speech about how he left his friends just to watch the Super Bowl with me. Right...

Game starts, he says, I am going for cigarettes. It's a ten minute walk. He returned during the second quarter. His walk was unsteady, his speech slurred. He was asleep before the half time show, had to turn up the volume to cover the snores.

Four hours after the game had ended, he woke. Once he heard the score he sat on the end of the bed, elbows on knees, head in his hands moaning..."what did you do, what did you do? The Eagles should have taken them" ect ect.

I still want think I need to make myself a T shirt that says I am all powerful.

Well, from what I can gather it was MY fault because I was talking to the other women during the game. WHO KNEW that Donovan McNabb could be distracted down there on the field by my chatter about clam dip?????? That must be why he threw those interceptions....

PS It was also my birthday, so I was enjoying the party I had, even though there was a football game on.

It was MY fault - the Patriots could here this born and bred New Englander screaming for them, so tell all your husbands that I am to blame - and they can lynch me if they can catch me! LOL

My favorite Clam Dip Recipe

Cape Cod Clam Dip

1/2 c Clams; Minced, OR 6 1/2 oz canned Clams; Minced, Well Drained (save a bit of the juice)
2 tb Clam Juice
8 ozs Cream Cheese; Softened
1 tb Chili Sauce (I like it with shrimp cocktail sauce, too!)
dash of Hot Sauce (like Tobasco, this is a "to taste" thing)
1 tb finely minced green onion tops
1 ts Lemon Juice
1/4 ts Worcestershire Sauce
nice shake of ground pepper

Blend the clams, clam juice, and cream cheese to a smooth consistency. All all of the other ingredients and blend well. Cover and chill. (Overnight is best) Makes about 1 3/4 cups of dip

Happy Birthday Osier59, I am glad to hear you had a good one!!

Also, thanks for the Clam Dip Recipe, I am definately going to try that one.

We spent a really nice day at home for the Super Bowl, just our family. He had been drinking for three days straight, and decided to have a sober one. I had just got the book 12 steps for codependents, and I love it....it made the difference in how our day went, even though the Eagles didn't win.
