Healing from Depression
While recovering from depression:
Take it one day at a time.
Don't expect too much too soon.
Set realistic, doable daily goals.
Take part in activities that make you feel better.
Do not underestimate the power of laughter. It's hard to feel depressed when you're laughing.
Seek out people who are supportive and helpful.
Stick to your treatment plan; for example, take your medication as prescribed and keep your psychotherapy appointments.

Great advice.
I know I often get so obsessed with wanting instant results. I set unrealistic goals and when I don't achieve them, frustration sets in, followed by self pity and drepression. I find I feel better when I write down a goal for the week in a place I see everyday (for me on a dry erase board on the wall). That way I have a daily visual reminder, and a bettter chance of working on the goal. When the goal gets accolmpished - thats a great feeling!
