Sleepless in WV
Sleepless in WV
It's 6:34am and I can't sleep. I fall asleep for a short while and start having the craziest dreams awaking frightned and confused. I just had a dream that I walked into a liquor store with a beer in my hand. The lady in the front asked me to hold out my hand to see if I was shaking. Then all the sudden cops roll up on arresting me for DUI and open container because I had more beer in the car. I have been having dreams like that throughout the last few nights. It may not sound like it's that big of a deal but it scares the heck out of me. I wake up at times and it takes minutes before I realize that it was only a dream. I know that I can't take Nyquil or Tylenol PM's so what should I do to get some rest? If any of you have any suggestions it would be much appreciated.... Lots of Love, Susan
Susan- Hello from Conn ! I am sorry that you are not sleeping well.I have those dreams sometime's too. They are pretty upsetting.I am always so relieved when I realize that it was just a dream. It took awhile for my sleep pattern's to level out but eventually they did.You sound like you are really dedicated to your sobriety and that is great. Susan,
I too have had the very same dreams.
I have found that a very hot bath and a prayer before bed does help.
Alot on your mind can make for a sleepless night.
Can you come here and vent it all out before turning in?
Maybe that will help.
God Bless!

Sleep problems are horrid. I have a recurring dream where I am trying to drive from the backseat. I think it is a loss of control thought my brain is telling me. But it is just horrible isn't it? I guess the good news is it ends eventually, if we stay sober.
