Thanksgiving
Each year I deal with the juxtaposition of my 2 Thanksgiving realities. 1) the history of my husband who was killing himself until he finally surrendered and entered rehab (for the 4th and final time) November 2012 and....2) my brother who resisted all attempts at help and died of his disease in November 2016. I wish every person struggling knew that there is someone out there that loves you, that wants you to be happy in your life. I miss my brother every day, and am grateful for my husband's courage in facing his sobriety. To all of you who face the decision to drink this Thanksgiving, I applaud the courage and strength it takes to be comfortable in your own skin and enjoy a non-alcoholic during while celebrating family/friends.
