Starting over...
So. This year I had managed 5 months of sobriety. Then around the end of July I fell off the wagon. I have been battling trying to get back to being sober. I'm going to start today with not drinking. This is my day 1. Im just so tired of being hungover, feeling sick, and feeling compelled to drink. I hate this addiction with a passion. I just need to take this one day at a time.

proud of you for making the decision to quit and reaching out here! i’m wrapping up my first week and it’s been so hard but really worth it for many reasons including some of the ones you listed. posting here has helped so much as well as meetings. you got this!!
Welcome aboard. This place saved my life.
I wanted to quit, but didn't know how. I pinballed around SR after about 80 days on my own. I was losing my mind.
SR directly and indirectly helped me help myself.
Suffering and time.
It feels amazing at my time clean. The internal happiness that my mind creates naturally now was something I didn't know about.
I exercise 4 to 7 days a week. That is my main goto therapy. There are other ways, but that is mine.
I still crave, but I am educated and battle the suffering with analysis.
Thanks for the therapy.

Willbilly - Welcome back. Thanks for coming back and posting. I read your first post from 2015. You have been thinking about getting sober for a long time. I certainly get this. Took me a long time too. Today is a great day to stay sober.

Good morning. I was able to sleep quite well last night. Which is a huge boon and will help me with the battles to come with the cravings. We are going to visit the JFK museum today in Dallas so that will keep me occupied and moving for awhile. Sunday we are going to thw Nascar race. And then Monday we drive home.
Great decision Willbilly - there are loads of us in the early days here. I have been reaching three months and relapsing, so I understand where you are coming from.
Have a great weekend, and you are so right, staying busy is key x

Drive safely, WB.
But it shows us one thing. You won’t get a massive craving as you’ll be concentrating on your driving. You might really feel like that drink at the end of those 11 hours so be ready for that with a coffee, a Pepsi or whatever.
But whilst your minds occupied with driving, the cravings will hold off. Lesson learned for us all and especially those in early withdrawal is to keep the mind occupied.

Like you said though, just take it one day at a time. The most important day is today. Focus on that!

Another day sober(yesterday). On Monday with the 11 hours road trip I didn't make it home till midnight and it was right to bed.
Here is to another day sober, which I will be grateful for.
All the best,
WillBilly
