60 days
60 days
I don’t have much to say because I’m tired, but I thought I’d post this update. Today is my 61st consecutive day of sobriety. I’m making this post so people early in sobriety or maybe even still drinking can search my old posts and see what kind of drunk I was just 60 days ago and see how far I’ve come.
I’ve gone to about 50 AA meetings in the last 60 days and they have saved my life. I love going to meeting and I love the people in AA. I did not always feel that way. I have turned my back on AA probably 20 times. But I knew if I was really to get sober, that’s where I would do it.
Thanks to all the people at SR as well. So
much support throughout the years. You know who you are people and I’m eternally grateful.

Congrats on 60 days sober! Isn't it amazing when we get some sober time we can finally see things clearly. My favorite part of being sober is waking up feeling good.
Keep going, it gets better.

I am genuinely so pleased - I feel quite emotional reading this.
I also no longer believe in time as a straight continuum. 60 days...what the hell?!?!?!?? If I was asked to guess I'd say it was about 15 days.
once I got past about ten weeks the days just snowballed, I think because I could just get on with the rest of my life, the focus wasn't on booze and the days looked after themselves
Well done BABM, I think you're a great example of the 'do whatever it takes' attitude

Congratulations BABM. You are chalking off the months now and as Be123 said, it starts to snowball and no longer entire focus on the booze. The days take care of themselves, because you are living with much greater things to do.
Congrats on 60 days, BABM! Reading about your experience with AA has really opened my eyes to the power of that group. Even though I'm ahead of you with sober days I am learning a lot from your posts. Thanks for that
