Actually not a newcomer!
Hi all
I was a contributor under the name of changingman. I have since changed email addresses and was unable to log back in today.
No matter though because I failed. I went back to drinking in earnest despite the helpful advice received 6 ish years ago and ignored all the signs of my alcoholism in favour of feeding the beast, I drink every night and on Sunday took my first drink at 10am, the first time ever.
Hence “Havetochange” I think it speaks for itself.
Im back but not proud.

Well Hello there!
You wrote "would be happy to simply not drink during the week initially but I have a feeling it’s all or nothing in my case."
It's essentially all or nothing for all alcoholics. Alcoholics can't drink alcohol. Ever. On any day of the week.

Welcome back Havetochange! I was a long term alcoholic and it is hard to begin with but getting sober is a great feeling. Just have a plan to do something diversionary when the cravings hit, especially in the evening. Good luck.
