Checking in on day 59

Generally things going well

I’m having thoughts ..and actually googled ..about non alcohol beer ..I know what’s causing this , the mini UK heatwave , the beer was not my crutch so ok , yada yada

I know exactly where it will end , couple non alcoholic beers followed by coupe normal beers , followed by a bottle of wine ..followed by 3 bottles of wine and 59 days down the drain !

get outta my head AV !

amazing lightening show tonight in UK though on a plus !

Congrats on three months sober! Don't give in to that voice - it lies. You've come too far to go back now.

Well done on day 59!

Good job on recognising that little AV worm and stomping it down

Was mental the lightning bouncing about last night! But the days will cool soon. I'm from Scotland to it was about 20c today, hot but bearable. Stick with it son and you're doing cracking and you're not far off 100 days. X

Yeah. It’s hard at the cusp of milestones like 2 months. I’ve been through it at 2 months and then again at 6 months. You’ll thank yourself when you wake up sober tomorrow!

I can certainly relate, rainy'.
Keep up that effort.
You'll find it gets noticeably easier the longer you remain AF.

Hey Rainy,

I'm 11 weeks sober and had a wobble last night over NA beer.

I've drunk two NA drinks during this time - one NA Heineken beer (330ml) at week 4, and a mocktail on week 9.

Both times I've felt anxious, and they've left me wanting more.

It's different for everyone, but just thought I'd share my experience!

Congrats on 59 days, by the way

Each to their own, rainy, but I went from 4 to 6 cans of real beer a day to none, and alcohol free beer helped me do so. I’ve mentioned a couple of family-related crises I had on day 55 (minor) and eight months (major) and on both occasions my cravings were stopped with a couple of cans of AF beer. I’m coming up to 20 months sober and still have an AF beer a few times a week.

If you’re unsure, then maybe it’s best to avoid AF beer, but a lot of people drink it without problems. It could be a lot worse.

Our heads - that's where the AV lives. Eviction is a start, but then that thing just lingers outside waiting for an opportunity to take up residence again. You might want to build a fence in the form of an adamant resolution to keep it from interfering in your life and tempting you with bologna. Anything resembling alcohol sparks a fire under the AV's a$$.

a lot of people do have problems with it tho.

I'm pleased it works for you and I even understand you wanting to share that, but it's not something I'd recommend, especially to someone like RE who's said she already knows where it will lead..

59 days of sobriety is great, and good for you for thinking your way through the NA beer and deciding against it.
