Hang on

Hang in there sweetie. Keep yourself busy with your hands, take a walk, drink alot of water or orange juice. I am here for you we can do this together. Call a 1-800 number and see if there are counselors waiting by the phone to listen. Or e-mail me anytime you want.

You first great move was coming here, congratulations.

Always

Hello Irishman.

I truly understand how you feel.

Debbie gave some great advice. Find an AA number you can call and talk to someone.

What I used to do if the cravings were so bad, I would just eat and eat until my stomach was full so I couldn't drink because there was no room left!

I'm not saying this is the healthiest thing, but I'd rather gain a couple of pounds than wake up with a hangover and having to start all over again.

Hang in there!

Richard

Welcome Irishman,

I'm glad to see you came here for help. 4 weeks is GREAT. Do you know why you wanna drink? My sponsor told me it's because I'm an alcoholic, and that's what we do. However, I now have the choice to do something different. There have been times in the past where this site has helped me stay away from the first one. Let us help you, too. And what comfortabllynumb said is true: This too shall pass

Its late now, just got home from work and read your post. If you are snug in bed, soberly sleeping, then well done...you will feel great in the morning. If not and you went for the bottle...never mind, tomorrow is another day. Remember it is not a contest- even if you only achieved 4 weeks thats a lot to a drinker and you'll have learned a lot in 4 short weeks, you won't lose that, it's a continuous process. I am no expert, I only have 9 weeks myself, but I hate to hear people all miserable and depressed because they feel they have to start from the beginning again...it just isn't so! I wish you all the best Luv
