Smile Double Digits!!! Day 10

Today is Day 10 for me. I am feeling really good. This time around, as there has been many, I am really and seriously just focusing on one day at a time. Counting ahead to set date marks doesn't seem to work for me rather than stress me out. I am just focusing on waking up and deciding that I will not drink for the next 24 hours and that's all. I have accomplished so much in these last 10 days and it's so nice to be able to look back and not have a day that was wasted on the couch hungover or some stupid thing I did because I was drinking. I was in control and aware for 10 days and that is awesome. My motor skills are sharpening with my music as well which is so meaningful to me. I am very proud to say I have made it to the double digit mark. I thank SR for being here for me as a constant place to turn when I need to. Thank you, here's to another 24!

I'll take 24 more as well.

Good job, copperfield.

Yep. We can drink any time we want copperfield. We are just not going to drink today. Well done on 10 great days of health and peace.

That's exactly it, and that mentality has been helping me a lot.

Yeah, the deprivation model really was problematic for me. Once I realized that nobody is depriving me of anything and that I am still a free person, sobriety became much easier to think about and to work on.

Great news copperfield! I think it’s absolutely fine to take it one day at a time. It’s quite possible that the longer you stay sober the more you’ll want to keep it that way.

I hope so! I booked an outdoor gig tonight for this coming Saturday and it's already stressing me out about the booze as it's a street party. But I just need to keep reminding myself that today is today I'll deal with that on Saturday when it's actually happening.

Thank you everyone. I will revisit all your positive thoughts, especially if I need to reread them next Sat. And yes Dee, I haven't played live without drinks in a while but I am looking forward to taking it on and being fully there with my head and my motor functions
