There is nothing to be ashamed of. If you have a problem with alcohol, drinking is your normal state of being. It's very sad, but not shameful. Can you make today your day one? I'm sending you lots of love and support and a big hug.

Don't let the shame keep you hooked on the alcohol. Look at your recovery plan and see what you can add to help you move on.

Ideally, there is no judgement in our support forum. Easier said than done.

Quitting drinking starts with wanting to. If I hadn't had major mental and physical issues, I would never have made it out this long.

As my clean days add up, the crave calls off and on. SR reminds me of what a relapse would do.

Thanks.

Someday147. Have you stopped yet? All you can do is put the bottle down and go from there. Being ashamed is right where the AV wants you. We are here for you.

How are things going today S147? I hope you are in one piece and healing up. Don't spend too much time on shame. As Maximus wisely points out, shame is one of that dirty little AV's main strategies to keep you drinking. All is well and you can get this thing figured out. I'm glad you posted for some support.

We have all been there too. Fall down 7 times, get up 8. You can do this!

"Play the tape forward"...imagine what will happen if you pick up that first drink.
