2 years + 2 days
Hello SR!
I am currently 2 years + 2 days sober! I owe a lot of my success to SR and the people on this forum. I don’t check in much anymore, but SR was my lifeline for the first few days, weeks, months, and the first year.
Sober life is so much more than I could have ever asked for. I’m 100% available to my kids, family, and friends. My former anxiety is so much better. I now have the ability to comprehend and react appropriately to situations whereas before I consistently reacted prematurely and emotionally. I have gained a much greater sense of self and self confidence.
Life isn’t all roses, of course. I still have problems. I still get cravings/urges. But the cravings/urges pass as quickly as they spring up. The difference in life now is that I’m mentally “in it” and actively involved in myself and my life.
SR helped me understand that there was a way out of alcoholism. Reading other people successes and struggles helped me on my journey. Thank you to everyone at SR for being, and continuing to be, part of my story.
Stay the course SR friends....it’s so worth it!

This is it my friends. This is what we have to look forward too. I would venture to say that almost EVERYONE would post the same thing at the 2 year mark. In other words, things will get better. Congrats Atlast!

I am just starting to understand fully these upbeat messages after 11 months sobriety. Looking forward to following your steps and celebrate my 2 years sober with my SR family.
