362 days

Im sitting here reflecting on how a year ago I was sitting here doing a shot of rum every 10 or 15 minutes. Would have been hammered by now (12:30). Now, I'm sitting here sober and happy. You dont need that buzz, it just aint anywhere near worth it. Best of luck to everyone trying to quit. You will do it. This website helped me change my mindset on quitting by listening to others here. Thank you.

My 5th day sober was spent in a 28 day rehab stay
where the love and care of family placed me into the
hands of those capable of teaching me about my
addiction and handing me the gift of a recovery program,
a guideline to live by each day forward in my life.

Once I took that gift, I never went back or got back on
that crazy train of addiction. It was finally put to rest a many
a one days sober ago.

We all take one day at a time. One step at a time to get
us further down the road. You are all on your way to achieving
success in your own recovery life and journey.

Continue listening, learning, absorbing and applying helpful
suggestions and tools to strengthen your recovery foundation
to live upon for yrs to come.

Your happy destiny awaits you.

Well done Abraham. Three days to go and it's a full year for you (or is that 4 days as this is a leap year?).

Congrats, Abraham! I like that you seem to have a relatively simple but effective approach to recovery

I did have the inner debate about wanting to quit and needing to quit just about everyday for about 12 or 13 years before I finally decided to actually try it. I'm lucky by not having a bunch of baggage to go along with drinking too much. Its weird because its one of the hardest things I have ever done but at the same time it was quite simple. Just dont physically pick up and drink a drink and you are good. It can be done that way.
