5 months today
Just cleared 5 months as of today.
everything’s better- sleep, mood, health, money, and so much calmer.
if I had simply woken up with a regular hangover in Dec 2019, I’d still be drinking today. But instead I had very bad anxiety for weeks. I’d never been through that level of pure anguish.
I think that’s why I’m sober today without really too much effort. I’ve had temptations, but I’m pretty confident I won’t go through with the thought of drinking. The price is just way too high now.
I think it’s a threshold I needed to pass. Only through pain I guess...
wishing everyone a safe and serene June!

Some of us kept drinking even after (and during) such episodes, so pat yourself on the back that you saw sense relatively early in the progression into alcoholism.
