Hello all,

new to the site and what a pleasure it has been to read so many surportive comments and to realise that nobody is alone in this horrible alcohol battle!
I’m 37 and been an alcoholic for the last 12years.
started with a few cans of beer in the evening, then at 22 went on holiday and was introduced to the world of red wine. Fast forward and I’m now on day 2 of sobriety, after drinking a bottle of strong Red wine and 4 can of beer a night.

ive decided to stop as my health is suffering Both physically and mentally. I was diagnosed with generalised anxiety disorder 10 years ago for which I take medication. And have stomach pains and loss
of appetite and terrible anxiety.

so today is day 2 of my journey. I am determined to never drink again.

I have a great life, wife and kids and I want to be around to see more of it. And to actually live instead of being taking on a tour of life by alcohol

Welcome Mrtantan. I found that alcohol was causing 99% of my anxiety. Life is far easier to handle without the alcohol. Congrats on your great decision. Keep it going, it gets so much better.
