Wish me luck! (So nervous!)
I have a job interview this week. Holy cats, I’m nervous. I guess once the interview was scheduled I realized how much I really want this job. Or a job in general; I’ll be okay if I don’t land this one specifically. Although I really want this job specifically, so here’s hoping.
I’m stressed because it’s at a high school and I’ve only taught middle school. But I’m open to the change; high school could be fun; I’ll just need to do some preparation beforehand. And the interview is via zoom, which for some reason makes me more uncomfortable than in person. (But at least I can do this interview barefoot! That’ll be a first.)
I guess I shouldn’t be too freaked out; I have a decent reputation in this school district and good references who say nice things about me. So if I’m not the right fit for this position, there will be other opportunities. I’m applying to middle schools too, and there are always a lot of middle school teaching jobs around here.
Anyway! I’m so glad I’m not drinking. Like not even a little bit tempted. Right now I’m kind of excited and hyper, and the old me would have poured some wine to settle down. But all I want to do right now is go for a walk and clear my head. As for the interview, all I can do is prepare and give it my best shot, then que sera sera. So I’m heading out for a calming walk now. Wish me luck! (About the interview. I don’t need you to wish me luck for my walk.)

They want to see you because they want to hire you, Bonnie. Your job is to help them to achieve that goal.

Thanks y’all! The interview went very well. I wasn’t nervous at all once we got started, and I feel like I had the opportunity to describe my experience and qualifications quite well. It’s all going to come down to what they’re looking for and whether or not I’m the right fit. I should hear back within a week. And now I have another interview lined up for Wednesday, which is another fantastic opportunity. I feel very optimistic about things; something is going to work out.
