Annual Front Yard Cactus Bloom

Not much blooming when compared to previous years, but it's a fun hobby.
In the 80s when I was drinking by myself in the apartment with the drapes closed, I never thought of such things.

Added a rose bush and a Japanese maple from the back yard just for fun.

Oh this brings me back to my childhood in a very good way... my father loved cacti/succulent plants, and many other plants as well. I grew up in an environment that looked like a botanical garden and also helped my dad with the plants a lot, some parts we dreamed up together. Never tried to create anything similar in my own independent, adult life, never chose to live in a house with a yard and I think it is better because I would not want to take care of it consistently. But love to see and visit these kinds of places. Nice hobby and good job!

Stunning! Nature is the finest artist. Everything flowering is exploding in Florida now. A few blocks from my place is a huge, spooky-looking grand oak dripping with Spanish moss and night-blooming cereus, which only blooms for one evening and is gone by the next morning--it looks like they might break out tonight. The flowers are otherworldly and spectacular but so transient--there is a message in there somewhere! Beauty surrounds us, but like you, when I was drinking there was no place is my world for it--these things matter now. Thank you for the lovely photos.

WoW Beautiful my cactus didn't winter over so I'm glad I had pruned it and saved a lot of clippings

Gorgeous, January! I love cactus but they aren't fond of me. Thanks for the beauty.

Gorgeous! I do love garden blooms. Cacti also hate me but I had a Christmas cactus bloom once, not near as lovely as yours here.
