Struggling .. day 3

Hi,

I am out of work due to the virus. I don’t have it.. but it has caused my drinking to increase significantly. I always knew if I had the opportunity I would likely drink everyday.

I feel exhausted and almost deathly daily. I end up with horrible anxiety.

I made it to day 3 and for the first time in a long time feel okay.. I slept last night. But my insane brain says drink.

I need to end the cycle once and for all.

3 days is good!

Just do whatever it takes... Eat sweets, coffee, whatever... Try to find a good show....Daily household tasks can help as well...

Also here's a link to a 24 hour meeting if you're into that....

3 days is great.

You can learn to not listen to the AV. Ignore it and stay focused.

I literally posted virtually the same thing four days ago.

times are tough. Drinking made it was tougher. It’s the anxiety and the out of control that made me come here.

feeling better on day 4....

struggling but minus the crushing weight I had ...caused by alcohol.

Hi and welcome Win

I always knew if I had the opportunity I would likely drink everyday.
Yeah and that became a self fulfilling prophecy when I was 'retired' due to ill health.

I eventually stopped because I didn't want to die that way.

I'm still home, and ironically as isolated as I was then thanks to COVID19- but I don;t drink over it and I haven't for 13 years.

This place has a lot to do with my enduring recovery, Read around, post as much as you like - see what other people are doing to stay sober.

You can do this

D

How are you doing today, as your post was from Yesterday? I’m not very far into my recovery (only 10 days), but there are stories and help and support all over here, as I have found out. I hope you are doing OK.

Welcome to the family. Staying sober is keeping me sane during this lockdown. I know that whatever problems I have, they're not as bad as they would be if I were still drinking.

Stick around, you'll find lots of support and good advice here.
