72 hours sober
Coming up on 3 days sober after basically blacking two weeks of my life. Maybe it was 2.5 weeks? I don’t know. Not really feeling withdrawals any more. Just tired, lonely and anxious. Anxious because I was working the whole time. Tired because sleep is hard. And lonely because ... do I have to state the obvious?
anyone have any healthy coping mechanisms for this strange time?

Hi Jack and great job on getting through 72 hours of sobriety.
My best suggestion would be to get outside and walk (using social distancing). Exercise and nature are two good things for early recovery. Other than that - maybe Netflix, reading, FaceTime with friends/family, anything that will help you to feel better and take your mind off drinking.

I was in your position not too long ago. I am in lockdown alone and AA was canceled so I get that anxious, lonely feeling as you detox and try to piece together what you were up to for 2 weeks. I have an entire month I can't really remember. I spent a fortune on a couple strippers though. Can't remember what they look like. That was just before the city was locked down in March. All a blur...
You should be much better in a couple more days. Hang in there.

Im 12 days in. I know how you feel. The thing is helping me bigtime is exercise. I have been working out like madman. Everytime the anxiety and depression hits I walk or attempt to jog a bit for 3-4 miles. Either on a treadmill or outside..snowing here now so treadmill today. It is hard for me to committ to walking/running everday and just threw some weights in but it's does help a lot with the anxiety and depression.

Great job on getting 72 hours!! What are your interests / hobbies? Maybe research something new? I myself cannot stress exercise enough. I abhor the gym so I have set myself up with what I enjoy. Hula hoop, jump rope, nordic walking sticks (just under 5 miles a day). Meditation. Yoga has been instrumental in my physical and mental well being.
