I was horribly hungover, went to the pub, got hideously drink, came home and drank in front of my family until I passed out. The same as i had been doing for the past 15 years, having drunk to excess since I was 16 (24 years).
I felt miserable. Physically I was barely existing. I went to AA when I was 24 and I always remember someone saying: 'I didn't hit rock bottom - I bumped along the bottom for many years'. That was me, so low and miserable, making everyone around me miserable. And then I hit rock bottom!
I slept 8 hours last night! Today I'll garden, work, look after my kids. I'm taking stock of my behaviour, attitudes and past. I'm taking responsibility for what I've done and how I became.
Being sober is a necessary part of moving forward. If I drink just once I know I'll be back to 27th February within days and all this work will be wasted
Tha ks for all your support in getting here everyone, I rely on this board and you guys more than you will know

I've read these boards for a while and I think it's different for everyone.
For me days one to seven were physically harsh - sweaty, not much sleep, headaches and phantom hangovers. But after day five things started getting much much better
Hang in there day 2 will quickly turn into day three
