Dating in recovery??

How have you been able to meet new people once living sober?
I have heard about a new sober dating app Clean and Sober Love but I wanted some feedback on how you all figured it out?????

It was my downfall every single time. Even with a good relationship I found it too difficult, the strain of looking good, considering someone else and battle sobriety was too much. I've been single for a year now, pretty much for the first time since I was 14. I'm 48 now and I'm staying single for as long as it takes. I actually love it now lol

Hi Maxman

Its probably not the answer you want to hear but I needed to work on myself first before I could even think of letting someone else in to share my life.

How long have you been sober?

D

Good question. I am also taking a year and working my steps prior to entering a relationship. I am figuring myself out in all of this, and feel empowered in not needing a relationship or dating right now.

Just take the next right step in your recovery and everything else will fall into place.

Nic.

Learn to love yourself first. The greater the length of being single and the more work done on yourself is probably for the better in terms of finding a happy relationship. The length single depends on how much work needs to be done 🙏

It was strongly suggested to me to establish and maintain a relationship with a power greater than myself the first year of recovery. I waited almost 3 years to date. Relationships are a great way to find one's character defects.....
