Two years ago I attended a work function that I was lucky to be invited to. It involved meeting with some higher ups in our large company and someone of my position was not generally included. Two days before, I did my usual thing and got so drunk that I thought I was dying by Sunday. Knowing I’d still feel awful on Monday when I’d be attending this function, I shelled out over $100 to get an iv of saline to feel better. It barely helped, I still felt like ish the next day and even though I made it through relatively well, my anxiety and anger at myself were through the roof.

Happy to say I’ll be attending the same function this week, but I’ll be over 14 months sober feels great knowing I’ll be my best self this time around.
