Sun, water....

Day 15, housework done, sun is shining, what I wouldn't give for and ice cold beer by the water.
Kinda sad that's not an option.

Yep. We don't drink anymore. Beer is definitely an option. But just one beer is not an option. This thing doesn't work that way. Enjoy what sounds like a really nice day with clear head, quiet, calm and on a healthy path.

I wouldn't consider it sad that's not an option. Consider how great it is that that's not an option.

Hi Saoirse. I felt that way too, in the early days. I was focusing on missing out rather than what I had gained. Feeling a little sorry for myself & resentful. Thankfully, all those feelings passed when I began to appreciate my freedom from the constant obsession with alcohol. For me, there was never one beer. Every time it was in my system unexpected & bad things happened. It wasn't the lighthearted, fun thing I fantasized about. You're doing great on day 15. Things will get better.

So true, Surrendered. I did enjoy the day. Treated myself to a Kombuca Gingeraid instead, delicious and healthy. Wonder if I'll ever reach a point when beer doesn't even cross my mind?

Thanks Hevyn, its definitely a little tricky for me now with a couple of weeks behind me. Hopefully I will get past this.

Yes they are, such a beautiful, peaceful thought. Can't get into too much trouble just enjoying them.

I try not to romanticize my alcohol. It was my friend until it wasn't!

This is one of the reasons I slipped up 2 weeks ago. It was nice out and my 2 cousins sent me pictures of them drinking in the sun so after work I couldn't resist. What a stupid mistake and it was not worth it. Never got to enjoy the sun when I was that drunk.

Not a good image anymore. Just sadness and anxiety. Which I still have a lot of, but in clearer sort of way. Thanks Dee

Sorry anxioustock. Must be all memories from the normal times we had enjoying the sun and cocktails before it got out of hand. It's great that you were able to recognize it, and get right back to taking good care of yourself!

Looks like you made it through the day ok, Saoirse. I know you'll be glad when you wake up in the morning. It won't always be so challenging. You're doing great.

One of the most effective thoughts to have when considering drinking or not.

Saoirse13, congrats on making it through the weekend without drinking!
