It's day 60 of sobriety for me. It seems to be getting a little easier.
Last Thursday I was very tempted to drink. Went to a pub for an event. Only stayed 30 minutes as planned. It was so uncomfortable. I wanted to drink badly. I sat there feeling restless and left as quickly as possible. Thankful to still be sober.

Thanks for all the support. Doubt I'd be sober without this forum.

I just wanted to say 60 days is absolutely great. Really well done. Sounds like Thursday was a narrow escape but nevertheless it was an escape and that was all down to you and your motivation. Seems clear to me that you're going to be able do this and I'm so pleased for you.

I agree: I wouldn't be sober without this forum.

Thanks very much Rose! I find socialising so uncomfortable without alcohol. I guess I have social anxiety. Don't know if this will ever improve. Guess I'll try to leave as quickly as I can when I do go out.

Great job Mary! 60 days is awesome. Well done on getting out of that pub when the cravings hit.

Congrats on 2 months.

I've always had social anxiety and always will. Another reason I think that drinking seemed to click very early on. Just not fun anymore to wake up and remember all the inappropriate things I said or did the previous night.

In early recovery there is no way that I would have went to a pub. I'm glad you made it though. In the beginning I didn't need any unnecessary temptations. It was hard enough without them! Best wishes for you on your journey!

You and me both Mary88. SR is one of the keys to my recovery. The big hammer in the toolbox if you will. Congrats on 60 days. That is a stretch of sober time that your mind and body thank you for I'm sure.

Great job on 60 days, be kind to yourself. Keep yourself out of dangerous situations like Pubs, you need to put your sobriety as #1. Glad you were able to make it through and not drink though.

It was a function I had to attend. I dislike pubs even when drinking.
