One year!
Hi friends,
Just wanted to let you all know the good news that I celebrated a year this week! I almost wrote "made it a year" but that doesn't begin to describe the relief and gratitude I feel to not have the weight of drinking dragging me down. I've never felt better, actually, and I don't look back on those days with anything but horror. I still get flashbacks of drinking embarassments, but that's good... I don't ever want to lose the gratitude that I don't have to be controlled by an abusive relationship. I also have discovered through the dietary choices I made to help me quit that I'm physically intolerant to it... So it's poison to me both physically and mentally.
I don't post often but I lurk all the time and am hoping all the best for you all. If you're struggling as you read this, please know that we've all been where you are and you can absolutely do this. Best wishes to all of you. <3
