So far so good

At the halfway house! There's six of us guys but we all seem to be pretty respectful of each other, by and large. Naturally it's a dry house but also the bills are organised for us so it's pretty conducive to minimal stress and maximum sobriety.

All in all I'm possibly even more relaxed than I was at my private rental, where of course my housemates once knew me as an active drunk (it was really quite hard for me to get over that shame, whilst still living there...)

Still, I'm within walking distance from there, which also means I'm within walking distance from my favourite coffee shop, running routes, and AA meetings (just about), so I can even keep up some of the better habits I'd formed.

Still no WiFi so this is alas more of an expensive update than I would like! Should be coming soon though.

But yeah. Happy to be secure somewhere, at least for now!

The journey continues...

Tetrax that sounds marvellous. It sounds like you have some headspace just to do the things you need to do for you for a while. Glad to hear it is going so well.

Wondering how you doing, glad to read this update. That sounds pretty great, like a real foundation. How long are you planning to live there?

Keep us in the loop. Things really only get better.

Maybe this is weird but I'm really proud of you. And happy for you. Keep pushing forward, dude. You're really, truly doing it.

And as an aside....I'm kinda hesitant to watch the final episodes of Bojack because I know it's gonna make me cry a lot. Guess I'll have to wait til I need that kind of energy.

Keep checking in!!

I'm sure there was anxiety about moving in with new people but sounds good so far!

Thanks everyone, there's no time limit so I can go at my own pace. Of course this is good but I still don't know which work direction to go in, with a history of bartending alongside my history of alcoholism. Part of me does miss hospitality, it gets me outside of myself, but yeah, I don't really know. I feel secure at least for now but still kinda lost, with depression and anxiety ever haunting me (though I do seem to be getting more good days of late)...

And dpac I just watched the first two (so only six to go ).

Yeah I am in the industry and I know what you mean. And it definitely gets you out of self because there is no time for dwelling in your head especially if it is a busy place...just do!!! Plus it gets you interacting and socializing with other people.

You mentioned that your favorite coffee shop is nearby. Coffee shops are part of the hospitality industry without a doubt. Plus the vast majority have no booze! Slinging coffee not drinks. :~) Just a thought, I ain't saying...

Tetrax, I'm so pleased to read that you've moved in and are feeling secure. Perhaps concentrate on you and your growth, then work you feel happy with, will flow later?
