Woke up today feeling off then took my dad to one of his stroke appointments, always make me feel upset plus was in town struggled parking busy etc felt very anxious and still unsettled once home. No desire to drink BUT realised this is exactly the day i would of drank to try and 'wind down'.

For once i have actually done the right thing, i ran myself a bath, had soak for hour read my book tried to forget about everything, now having hot choc and some cookies !!! A small but important to me victory

Be careful with those "great" days, too! That's when I had drinking feelings in early recovery.

The old method stopped working and was killing us slowly.

New ways to self soothe, relax, unwind, chill .... is what it is all about.

Today is my 8 day mark. My last drink was Jan 23rd. I feel like garbage and have no appetite, and also still occasionally getting the shakes.
