Triple crown
Well the thanksgiving, Christmas,New years trifecta is over . My third one sober. I quit on Nov 4th 2017. Had people over , poured out the leftover Champaign, time for bed. Fresh as a Daisy tomorrow good moments.
Very early in recovery, I was well into enjoying sobriety, but I remember getting special pleasure out of being sober on the customary "drinking" holidays. For some reason, I thought that was a real hoot not to be drinking when everyone else was getting plastered.
To a lesser degree, I also took special pleasure out of Friday and Saturday nights. It seemed like a bigger deal to be sober on Friday and Saturday then on Tuesday or Wednesday.
In reality when I was drinking, there was no difference between any day of the week, New Years Eve, Saint Patrick's, or the 4th of July. It was all just one big drunk. Sheesh! Who was that guy? Was that really me? Yeah, I guess so.
It's nice to be sober. It's nice to like being sober.
