Day 4/made a meeting/super sick
Hey doing my daily check in. Roday is day 4. Waiting to start feeling better but i have so many health problems that surface when I am sober. I have tonsilitis right now and tooth infection and pain from my slipt disk in my back and ive been having a near constant gallbladder attack for 2 days now... I am fasting and taking a bunch of home remedies... I cant have ER bills right now because im homeless and trying to build my credit and im not back on insurance yet so i am toughing it out. I am discouraged that i am not yet feeling physically well.... Although waking up without a hangover has been nice because that it probably worse in comparison.
On the bright side I made the meeting yesterday... It was okay despite the fact that i was having a gallbladder attack during the meeting... Good thing was i saw a guy there that i know from my old church and he passed my number to a girl my age and she texted me and invited me to a womens only aa group today at 3 which i am going to go to.
Also i have been studying, taking my vitamins, catching up on work stuff, walking etc so my productivity is rising for sure.
Thanks to all who read my ramblings.... I feel ready this time to conquor this... Hope everyone is having a good day

Hey R,
Day 4 is awesome! It is so so hard to get past Day 3, so congratulations to you.
I'm so glad you made the meeting today and are going to get to another one today - women's no less.
Do I understand correctly that these physical afflictions don't trouble you when you're drinking? I'm also wondering if there might be a free clinic in your vicinity? At the very least, I think you could walk into the ER and they'd have to take care of you... I know the last hospital I was at had signs posted to that affect, so at least some of them do that.

I knew in my heart that drinking was not helping me heal anything that was wrong. It only masked it for short time.
I remember going through detox off and on, I was a binge drinker, thinking I had a cold. I would have a beer and immediately feel better.
I had to suffer through this for about a week and then new weird symptoms appeared.
Sr taught me the only way out was through.
I have had about 3 oz. of booze in over 4 years. I consider that my taper down to nothing for the last 2 years.
Everyone is different. I have learned that I am heavily kindled and if i relapse I will sure get more crazy than I already am. The crazy gets worse and worse until it is noticed by everyone.
My current level of insanity is manageable. But, I am positive it has effected everything in my life.
I googled insanity symptoms to come up with my self diagnosed conditions. It has helped me toe the line.
Oh well, at least I can try to normalize and not continue the death spiral.
Hope this helps.
There is no problem that boozing can't make worse.
Thanks.

Good job on getting to Day 4 and I'm glad you're starting to feel a bit better. I think it's normal to become more aware of physical ailments when we stop drinking. I know I paid no attention to my health when I was drinking. I hope that you can go to a doctor if you feel you need to.
I hope you get to see a doctor too Rsanchez.
Now that you are not drinking the pain has probably been unmasked. That's a good place to start. You can start taking care of yourself now. You know what's going on.
Great to read that you feel ready to conquer this now. Me too.
Getting to a women's meeting a great idea as well. Enjoy. Share.
Things can only get better after we stop drinking. Phew, that's a relief.
Keep taking your vitamins, but wish you would see a doctor. .

... is there more to that sentence? Or do you mean these symptoms came on newly after you stopped drinking?
Also, hello again!
How was the women's meeting and how are you feeling today?
I'm so glad you keep coming back.

Most ive felt before midly but this time its pretty bad. There is a clinic that sees people free although there is a wait list if its not for urgant cases. I can give them a call today althiugh last time i went they wanted me to see a specialist whom my insurance diddnt even cover🤦🏽*♀️🤦🏽*♀️Unfortunately im trying to pay off 4k in debt in like a month and a half to get my credit high enough to get a place so thats why i reallydont want to rack up the er bill at this time... I need medicaid again really😫😫 so yea thats a whole ordeal😬😬
But as far as the womens meeting it went great i got everyones numbers, there was a good speaker, eveeyone was telling me about all the best meetings and inviting me so i will be going back today!
I gotcha. Totally respect that enormous financial goal. So yeah, definitely give that clinic a call. Be assertive with them when you get in and explain that you can't see the specialist and ask them how they can help with that. Our health care system is absolutely ridiculous. I have good insurance and it's difficult for me, so I can only imagine what it's like for you. It infuriates me. I could go on a rant, but instead I'll offer you my most constructive (unsolicited) advice from a person who's just been through the mill. First off, remember that health care providers got into the profession because they truly wanted to help people. It's the system that turned some of them crusty. They forget how hard it is from our side of the table/desk because it's hard for them too. Second, it's your job to advocate for yourself. Do that. With confidence, but be calm and polite about it. Ask for help, don't demand it. If there's any way they can help, most people will find a way.
The reason I asked the question about the aches and pains being new after you stop drinking is that I was just wondering if some of these might resolve after you've been stopped for awhile longer? Any experience with that? I don't mean to be dismissive at all! I just know that there are times I've quit and experienced new ailments that hang around for awhile, get worse, and then go away. While some others don't... Please ignore me if that doesn't ring true for you at all.
So glad to hear the meeting was a success.
There's nothing like getting those numbers and the inside scoop on where to find the best places! I'm very happy for you.
Moving right along, eh?
