I could have died
I could have died
Thank you to my many friends who have helped me to stay sober this Christmas.
Without your constant support after my last horrendous drinking binge
I could have died.
I cant remember much but it was the hangover noone EVER wants to experience in their lifetime.
That first 2 weeks after deciding to give up, is the time we need the most support.
If we can get to 2 weeks....we can get to 3 then 4 and now I'm here at 1 year and 1 month. I NEVER thought i could do it
It is possible.
Lets keep doing this together.
Thank you xxxx

We were all so scared for you Snooz. So glad you are back with us in the land of the living. I love that the 'real you' is back with us. It's been one of my own many sober gifts that I am grateful to have - that my friend chose to make it through some of the darkest times, back to us - our darling Snooz.

I didn't know you back then Snooz, and am now heading into my 2nd week. Can't believe I remained sober over Christmas. Feels so good.
You're post was really encouraging and am glad that you are with us too.
Support is so important. Thank you.

Thanks all you dear friends. Just such beautiful replies. I am so blessed.
Myth , i know which thread you mean and i did just that from when you helped me the last time a year ago.
Its amazing how quickly we can forget how horrendous we once felt
Anyone struggling today NEW YEARS DAY , this could be the day you change your alcoholic life to the one you deserve. We ALL deserve that peace.
As you can see in my post , these people have loved me and supported me even when i failed a few times.
We are ALL here to support whoever needs it today and beyond.
Much love and a HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL xxxxx

A Happy New Year to you too, Snoozy! You don't fail when you stumble, only when you don't get back up again. You know the stakes! Just 'play the tape.' If you return to drinking again then your liver is toast. Not everyone gets a second chance, much less a third. I suppose it's tempting to believe we're unlucky to be alcoholics but we all have the power to change- that's very lucky!
I hope you're recommitted to sobriety, Snoozy! You can do this!
