Day 2

So grateful I made it to Day 2. I’m realizing how much of a life and death issue alcoholism is. If I drink, I am very likely to end up someplace bad.

I think I am going to look into getting into therapy. I think I need someone to talk to.

I'm glad you've made it to day 2 Freedom CA.
Therapy can help I think - it might be useful if you can afford it.

And I do agree with what someone posted earlier. I have to remember in early sobriety that my only job is to not pick up. Make that my one priority.

Day 3 for me today FreedomCA.

Like you, if I continue to drink I will finish up someplace bad. Not that I do 'bad' things, just finish up doing stupid things. Things that shame and embarress me. Lose control. Can't live this way without the person I believe myself to be being lost forever.

I think therapy is a good idea. Use everything available to you. Things that work in the direction of your recovery. It'll be good to talk about it all.

Congrats on Day 2.

Hello I'm glad you all are joining forces to prep for the journey of a lifetime. But first lets get you in shape. Get the kinks out of them sober muscles. One day at a time. ✌

Living in Day 29 here. We are all the same. Early sobriety is tough. The one-day-at-a-time mantra sounded like a simple minded cop out to me for years, but now it makes so much sense. Right now it literally is just making a plan every day to stay sober. One-day-at-a-time is beautiful in its simplicity. It really is a recipe for success.

Yes, it’s starting to sink in that my job each day is to just not pick up. I don’t have to let other people’s pressures take me away from this goal. Feeling more clarity on Day 2.

Did my daily workout and got to a meeting tonight. It feels so much better to basically be out of the terror and sadness from yesterday’s withdrawal. Looking forward to my Day 3 tomorrow.
