Ive heard of NAD supplements but not IV.

And I thought they were being marketed for anti aging.

Never heard of it used any other way or for any other purpose.

Google shows this...

A holistic approach to alcohol and drug addiction treatment, NAD IV therapy is said to replenish the drained enzymes and target brain restoration. ... Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide (NAD) is a metabolic co-enzyme and is charged with the important job of structuring, repairing, and remodeling every cell in the body.

The price for The NAD Treatment Center Detox Method can range between $6,000 to $17,000, depending on the specific program that is recommended for you and discussed with NAD Treatment Center staff. For reference, a typical 10-day treatment is $11,850.

Until research backs up the claim that it works for ANYTHING ( there is none to date in the US ), Its just more snake oil to me.

All these anti aging supplements are tempting, but none of them have proof of anything except for the fact that they make some people rich off of the hype.

Thanks suki.

It sounds interesting but expensive. Are you thinking of trying it Jaz?

I have the NAD supplements but I'm bad about taking vitamins etc. on a regular basis. I also hesitate to use any "brain" meds without the approval of my neurologist since my alcoholism caused me to seize out several times.
I'm seeing him next month and will ask him. I know he does semi-approve
of some nootropic meds but believes the science behind it is still in its infancy.

AA was free. Glad since I had no money when I got sober ( I mean NO money!)

Eat well (really well) and maybe take a multivitamin. You'll heal well and your bank account will survive. I don't need to pay top dollar for an alternative vitamin B3.

Supplements are mostly a money-grab that target gullible people. Very little scientific research has ever been produced to support their effectiveness and the claims by manufacturers. Not to say all supplements are a scam, but the industry is full of snake-oil salesmen.
